Kelviden Tiger Lilly
"Mollie" was the first foal born at Kelviden Farm. She was born on May 7,1999. I prayed that she would be a filly, because I had always said I would name my first foal after Mollie Butler. Not only was she a filly but she was perfect. She was sooooo tiny!
I'll never forget as long as I live the morning she was born. I took the day off and just sat in her stall. I hope I'll have a lot more foals, but I don't imagine I'll ever feel the same way. I guess they say you never forget your first!
Unfortunately "Mollie" lost that beautiful Palomino color. I'm not really sure what color she wants to be. Its somewhere between palomino roan and grey. We joke that she's a horse of a different color
I don't know what will happen with "Mollie". In my dreams she'll be the greatest small pony hunter that ever was. She has the most gorgeous gates. All three of them! She jumps like she was born doing it and she has an elegance that is rarely seen. Some days I think that I should sell her so she can go out and be Kelviden's first ambassador to the world. And other days I think she should stay here and be a reminder of why I got into this business in the first place!
